After the last two years with ridiculously hot temperatures during April and May – and watching the alpacas weary with the heat whilst still in their amazing fleeces we took the decision this year to shear early. Despite the preceding anxiety that mid-April might be a bit too early when the day arrived the sun was shining. We sheared all animals other than the ‘show team’ – and they all seemed very grateful…
